Tough Spot For A Friend
Relationships in the modern world have been categorized with deceit, insecurity, unfaithfulness and betrayals. Finding someone loyal has been a very difficult ordeal to many out there for it is always a case of the guy not being faithful or the lady betraying the values of the relationship. Despite all these misfortunes there are still other couples who treasure their relationships and try hard to be faithful to each other.
As a friend to both Andrew and Faith I was happy to be part of their growing relationship and their deep desire to be trustworthy to each other. I had grown together with Andrew in the same neighborhood and we attended university life together as well as considering him a very close friend through the years we had grown together. It was not as a surprise when Andrew came and revealed his desire of moving in with Faith since He had started a business and according to him it was bound to do well since it was receiving positive responses from the residence. Being there closest friend I was very happy for them and indeed volunteered to help them if a matter arose concerning some of their basic needs.
Andrew was of the age of 25yrs while Faith was 22yrs, to many around them it was a bit too early for them to move in but as usual love supersedes every reason and advice. In one afternoon almost two days before their apparent move I got a call from Andrews’s father whom was totally against their planned action and in a concerned, diplomatic way pleaded with me to talk Andrew out of the idea. This was to be a trial in vain and after two days they rented an apartment together and started culminating their lives together as a couple.
Life in the first months of their stay was a beauty to watch since they charmingly embraced each other and would visit romantic spots to enjoy and rededicate their vows and affection. At the time Andrews’s business had started to pick up and as a fortunate gesture Faith was able to get a job in a fancy restaurant. Life could not have been more fortunate to them and despite his disapproval of their stay together His father was happy to hear things were working for them. A life filled with love and good moments with the woman you totally love and admire was what too many regarded very fortunate.
This however did not go on for too long as Andrew came to confide some of his fears about Faith one cold, Monday evening. He looked depressed and confused and with a low voice he told me Faith was cheating on him. This came as a complete shock since I had grown to appreciate her as a straight and upright lady. In addition Andrew revealed how for the last three months he had solely depended on her money to cater for their needs since his business had apparently collapsed due to power failure in the area. I felt sorry for him though he made me promise not to reveal this to anyone.
Faith had changed her ways completely, she had stopped spending nights there and often engaged Andrew in harsh confrontations threatening to leave him as well as not paying any bill for a man who had no respect to her. This became a frequent behavior and with time it was no secret to everyone. Faith made a decision to quit the relationship claiming Andrew had no respect to her and that in most arguments he had insulted her dignity and morals. Andrew left with no choice disbanded the house and with so much shame left for his uncles.
I got a hold of him one day and he is doing very well and had gotten over the rough experience, also that Faith had given him a call to ask for his forgiveness and wished him a happy life.
